I hope that you all had an amazing time over the break and that you had the chance to spend it with family, friends, and loved ones. I enjoyed hearing all the students talk about what they were thankful for over the break. They had wonderful stories to share.
I hope some of you have had the chance to see the preview of their thank you cards, on Seesaw, that will be coming home this week. The writing is all their's. The cover art work is a mosaic based on their understanding of warm and cool colours.
Other items we have been working on this week are health and the study of where our food comes from. If you have the opportunity in the next few weeks you may want to involve your child in looking at the food labels when you are shopping to learn and think about where their food comes from.
In math we have been continuing to work with 2 dimensional shapes, focusing on angles. Next week we will begin linking them to 3 dimensional shapes through the use of nets. We also worked on one of the Mashup Math challenges, continuing growing and repeating patterns.
We had a free building Lego challenge on Tuesday, with the buses cancelled. Thursday we started working with Mr. Julian in the Innovation Studio to build and program various robots.
Spelling is also back. We have our first spelling test of the new year tomorrow.
Have a great week!
Ms. Sparling
